Natus Vincere are the third team to advance to SL i-League StarSeries Season 3 semi-finals after beating fnatic 2-1 (16-6 on Overpass, 7-16 on Inferno and 16-8 on Mirage).
fnatic began Overpass, Natus Vincere's pick, with a fast B execution as Terrorists. Robin "flusha" Rönnquist secured the pistol round with a 1v2 clutch, with the the Swedes following it up with the next two rounds.
Egor "flamie" Vasilyev opened up the way for his team's first round with a double-kill in the fourth round and in a 2v3 with Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács in the next one. Then, Denis "seized" Kostin and Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev helped their team guarantee the 3-3 tie with a triple and a double-kill, respectively.
The CIS-based team picked up two more rounds before fnatic won their first with weapons. In the tenth round, the Swedish team seemed to have another round secured, but GuardiaN guaranteed the 6-4 for his team with an amazing 1v3 clutch with the AWP. From that point, Natus Vincere continued to control the game as they only lost one more round before the end of the half.
With a triple-kill, GuardiaN helped his team win the second pistol round, and they extended the gap in the subsequent three. The Swedes were able to win one more round before Natus Vincere finished the map 16-6.
Na`Vi opened up the path for the semis with an Overpass win
Inferno started with fnatic winning their T-side pistol round, with a triple-kill by Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson, and the successive anti-ecos. In the first gun round, GuardiaN did a M4A1 triple-kill, and another with the AWP in the next one, to carry his team to eventually tie the game at 3-3.
The Swedish lineuo then began to overcome Natus Vincere's defense, with a six round-streak guaranteeing them a 9-3 lead. In the thirteenth round, Jesper "JW" Wecksell and KRIMZ nearly won a 2v3 but flamie was able to secure it. fnatic then reached the eleven-round mark before the CIS-based team won one more in the first half.
A flawless CT pistol round by the Swedes, which included a triple-kill by flusha, saw them secure two more rounds. Despite their efforts Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev & co. only managed to win two more as fnatic closed their map pick 16-7.
During Inferno, KRIMZ led his team for the third map
The decider map, Mirage, had fnatic win the first two rounds while playing as Counter-Terrorists. Their opponents managed to get a one-round lead after buying for the first time in the third round, but a B retake by the Swedish team restored parity at 3-3.
Although Natus Vincere won the following round and broke fnatic's economy, the Swedes pulled off an eco to tie the score once again. However, the CIS-based team did not back down and extended their lead to 8-4 with a four-round streak.
In the thirteenth round, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer stopped their opponents' streak with a 1v2 CZ clutch in a back and forth affair. Until the end of the first half, each team won one more round, with Natus Vincere taking a three-round lead.
Edward opened up his team's CT-side with a double-kill to win the pistol round. With the help of seized in their first anti-eco, the Ukranian player finished a 2v4 clutch with a ninja defuse versus flusha.
After fnatic managed to buy guns, two rounds went their way before seized pulled off a 1v2 clutch to secure a 13-8 lead. In the following one, Edward and GuardiaN won a 2v3 and, from that point onward, Natus Vincere's defense continued to prevail as they secured a 16-8 win and a place in the semi-finals of SL i-League StarSeries Season 3.
